WEAR 2008 Tokyo

WEAR logo

In globalized modern societies, we need to consider worldwide human body variations in designing industrial products and public space.

However, it is not easy to obtain the international anthropometric databases. Moreover, it has not been established to obtain the representative dimensions or shapes from the database and to utilize for product design.

WEAR, an NPO, was launched to provide solutions for the international anthropometric database and their usage. Experts from 10 countries on both traditional and 3-D anthropometry were involved in WEAR. WEAR 2008 Tokyo is the first conference held in Japan. The state of the art of 3-D body scanning, anthropometric databases, quality control, tools and case studies are presented by WEAR core members.

Presentations will be in English or Japanese, and there will be simultaneous translations.
