Comment
The data book is published by the Research Institute of Human Engineering for Quality Life (HQL). The right side was measured. A total of 87 of the 178 measurements were obtained from scanned data. No comparison was made between measurements obtained using the traditional methods and measurements obtained from the scanned data. Individual data is available for a fee.

The measurements were obtained nearly 30 years ago, and thus are outdated. However, they include measurements for infants and children that are not available elsewhere. The right side was measured. The data book is available from the Japanese Standards Association.

Some of the measurements in (A) and (B) were obtained from scanned body surface data. It was confirmed that these measurements are comparable to those obtained using the traditional methods. All cephalic measurements were obtained using the traditional methods. The right side was measured. This data was obtained by researchers participating in one of the Millennium Projects of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry. Statistics are available at the website described below. Individual data is also available, for a fee, from the Research Institute of Human Engineering for Quality Life.
